Book Week: Book Week, formerly known as Jewish Book Week, will feature talks, performances, debates and workshops at King’s Place, King’s Cross over nine days starting on Saturday. A wide range of topics will be covered, but this weekend will also feature Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as theater director Sir Nicholas Hytner and Turkish-British author Elif Shafak. Ran: This year’s Orchid Festival at Kew Gardens is this last weekend. Themed around Madagascar, the Princess of Wales Conservatory displays the island nation’s rare plants. Included in your Kew admission ticket. Until March 3rd
Horniman Walrus: The Horniman Museum’s comical stuffed walrus is a reminder that it will no longer be on display until 2026 as part of the museum’s renovations. You can only see it until this Sunday. Free until March 3rd
Cirque du Soleil: Cirque du Soleil’s latest show, Alegria: In a New Light, closes this weekend at the Royal Albert Hall. This is the latest edition of the Cirque show, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary and tells the story of the power struggle between the old order and the youth in typical Cirque flair. Classic Vauxhall: A mini-festival of classical music, Classic Vauxhall continues until this weekend and will be held at various venues across the region. American singer-songwriter China Moses will perform at St Mark’s Church on Saturday, followed by a family concert at Edinburgh House in Kennington on Sunday. The festival concludes with a performance by Apollo 5, an a cappella vocal ensemble, in St. Mark’s Church. February 29th – March 3rd
Collect 2024: Head to Somerset House to see Collect 2024, an art fair dedicated to contemporary craft and design. Over 400 artists are represented by specialist galleries and dealers, with prices ranging from £500 to £50,000. February 29th – March 3rd
Rolling Stones: A new Rolling Stones photography exhibition opens at J/M Gallery in Notting Hill. Elegantly Wasted is comprised of 27 photographs taken by “Spanish Tony” (Tony Sanchez, a photographer friend of the Stones), some of which depict him sitting behind a sound mixing desk. It also includes a black and white shot of Keith Richards smoking (of course). Free, February 29th to March 5th
David Bowie: A free exhibition of David Bowie’s photographs is held in the beautiful surroundings of Fitzrovia Chapel. These photos were taken by photographer Kevin Davis one day in 1992, as Bowie was preparing to release his 18th studio album, Black Tie White Noise. Most of the photos were never published, although some were published in the mainstream press. Once again…until now. Free, March 1-20
RNLI women: The National Maritime Museum in Greenwich is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute with a new exhibition, Women of the RNLI. It features 42 of his photographs, taken by Lifeboat Station Project photographer Jack Lowe, each depicting women volunteering for her RNLI, and is part of the Women’s History of London It is part of the monthly celebrations. Tequila and taco brunch: Devonshire Terrace by Drake & Morgan has launched a new tequila and taco brunch in collaboration with liquor brand Patron. Primrose Hill Navy: It’s usually considered one of London’s more exclusive areas, but this walk around Primrose Hill puts the hard-working navigator at the center of the story. Guide Laura Agustín reveals how the region developed in the face of railroad soot. She follows canals and climbs famous hills, admiring railway landmarks as well as artist studios and pastel-painted streets newly made famous by the movie Paddington. 1pm
Bulgarian Folk Festival: The Spring Fest of Bulgarian Folklore and Traditions has arrived at Edmonton’s Millfield Theater, where singing and dancing groups from around the world will participate in traditional costumes to promote Bulgarian folklore. 4pm

Free Market: More than 60 flea and vintage traders are taking over the Big Penny Social at Walthamstow Flea Market. You can expect to find furniture, salvaged appliances, household items, and other odd items. 11am to 5pm
Vintage fair: Meanwhile, if you need to spruce up your wardrobe, head straight to Kensington Town Hall, where Frock Me! The Vintage Fair brings together 100 vintage fashion dealers from across the UK, selling a wide range of products from the Victorian era to more recent pieces from designer labels. 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Or would groups other than humans vie for space and control of the new territory, leading to conflicts and wars? Is it likely to cause it? Music recital: For a relaxing Sunday evening, take yourself to Lauderdale House in Highgate for a piano and guitar recital featuring classical music.
