The travel enthusiast is urging people to add the European country to their bucket list, claiming it’s the “most underrated country ever” – with a five-night trip costing just over £400 including accommodation, flights and meals.
Holidaymakers claim travel enthusiasts should visit “the world’s most underrated country”, which has plenty to do and costs less than £500.
A young woman named Hannah frequently shares travel tips on her TikTok page @hannahshols, including places to visit, dos and don’ts in each country, prices, and more. She’s fallen in love with many places, but can’t say enough good things about Malta. Located below Italy and above Tunisia, this holiday spot is just over a three-hour flight from the UK.
Hannah, who loves travel, recently visited the tiny country with some friends, spending just over £400 each on flights, five nights in a hotel with a rooftop pool, breakfast, luggage and transport. Hannah shared a video of her trip on TikTok, which has garnered more than one million likes. “I think Malta is the most underrated country I’ve ever been to,” she said.
She added: “Malta may be the 10th smallest country in the world but it definitely has the energy of a bigger country,” as she shared a video of the stunning location with stunning sea views, plenty of shops and eateries, historical sites and breathtaking gardens.
Hannah, who visited last September, explained why she loved the trip so much: “One of the things I loved about Malta was that it was like no other place I’d ever been to before. There’s a strong Arab and Roman influence.”
“It was absolutely fantastic. Everyone we met seemed so proud to be Maltese.”
Travel content creators recommend tourists head to the capital, Valletta. The group spent most of their time walking around the city and traveling by bus, which Hannah said is “very convenient and cheap.” She adds: “Spend a day in Valletta, wandering around the city, enjoying street dining, visiting boutiques, wandering in and out of the gardens, watching the cannons being fired at the salute battery, and seeing the harbour front.”
Hannah also suggested booking a cruise to Gozo, Camino and the Blue Lagoon – a full-day boat trip departing from Sliema that would see both islands and take in the sights in one day, which Hannah said cost her and her friends “about £29 per person”.
More than 1,000 people commented on Hannah’s video, with many agreeing with her love for Malta. “I’m from Malta and I’m so glad you all love our little island,” said one local resident.
“Malta is amazing, I want to go back soon,” added another, while another commented: “Honestly one of my favourite destinations in Europe, I never get bored.”
“I live in Malta and it’s seriously underrated,” another user wrote.
