With the 2024 Paris Games set to kick off on Friday, here’s a look at some of the sexual debauchery that’s taken place in the Olympic Village over the years.
The Olympic Games are considered the greatest show on earth, the ultimate test for athletes and a chance to make their mark in history.
And for two weeks every four years, it’s the world’s capital of sexual debauchery. Whether you win a medal or not, your chances of success are high, either in the bedroom or in the whirlpool.
Organizers are aware of the situation: 200,000 male condoms, 20,000 female condoms and 10,000 dental dams will be provided to athletes at the upcoming Paris Olympics, but there is no guarantee that there will be enough.

With the sporting extravaganza approaching, here’s a sneak peek at what lusty athletes can expect in the Olympic Village over the next two weeks…
Richards’ Rise
Micah Richards didn’t want to miss his only chance at the Olympics. We’re not talking about Team GB, which sent the men’s soccer team to the London 2012 Games, but about his nighttime activities in the Olympic Village.
Although he only spent three nights there, he was determined to make the most of it, as he told Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer on The Rest is Football podcast: “We went to training, came back to the village and stayed up until 4am those three nights.
“There were multiple campuses, the British national team, Brazil, France and all the other national teams all in the same block, and a huge room full of condoms! I was like, ‘What?’ It was clearly promoting safe sex and honestly, I was excited.”
“Honestly, I felt great. I was a little slimmer, a little toned, a little thinner, and it was summer so I was walking around shirtless. It was one of the best times of my life, it was incredible.”
Security guards needed
One gold medalist admitted to having a security guard at his door to make sure he got some much-needed rest before race day. The anonymous person also had a system for contacting his roommates in case one of them needed privacy.
The athlete told CNN, “My roommate and I would put something on our door so we could know if the other person was ‘busy.’ I hate to say this, but the night before me and my roommate were racing, our coach actually guarded the door. [because of our reputations]But it had no effect on me. I felt lighter on my feet when I ran after sex.
“Getting muddy outdoors”
U.S. women’s national team goalkeeper Hope Solo has spoken candidly about her experiences in the Olympic Village, revealing that she witnessed villagers having sex outdoors.
She told ESPN ahead of the London Olympics: “There’s a lot of sex happening. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience so you want to make memories, whether that’s sex, a party, or on the playing field. I’ve seen people having sex outdoors. On the grass, between buildings, people are indulging in lewd acts.”
Hot Tub Orgy
Why keep it just in the bedroom? At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, six athletes from Germany, Canada and Austria reportedly jumped into hot tubs for a “whirlpool orgy.” They’ll do anything to stay warm during Canada’s frosty West Coast winters!
Dating app crashes
Given the sexy atmosphere of the Olympic Village, it’s no surprise that dating apps and websites flourish during the Olympics, but the London 2012 Games proved too much for any one site to bear.
Gay dating site Grindr experienced an outage in East London as athletes from around the country flocked to the capital and were inundated with new customers. The surge in traffic was too much for the site to handle, and it quickly went down. It took technicians a full 24 hours to get the site back online.

“I had more sex in two weeks than I will in the rest of my life”
There’s really no excuse not to have sex in the Olympic Village. Former table tennis player Matthew Said revealed that when he made his debut at the Barcelona Games in 1992, he had more sex while competing than he’d ever had in his life.
Now a journalist, he admitted to The Times that the Olympics were “ever-so-famous sex fest”, adding: “My answer is always the same: absolutely yes. I went to my first Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 and had more sex in two-and-a-half weeks there than I had ever had in my life.”
“So twice. That might not sound like much, but for a 21-year-old college student with crooked teeth, it was a minor miracle. Barcelona, for us Olympic newbies, was as much about sex as it was about sport.”
Olympic Brothels
When U.S. team member Josh Lakatos unwittingly ended up running a “brothel” during the 2000 Sydney Games, he was understandably hesitant to go home early, even though the shooting competition had already ended.
With a spare room available, Lakatos allowed the lusty couples free access to his apartment: ESPN reported, “Dozens of Olympians, both male and female, flocked to the Shooter’s House — or ‘Shooter’s House,’ as they called it — around the clock, dropping off Oakley duffel bags stuffed with condoms sourced from a friendly village clinic.”
Eventually, Lakatos realized, “They’re running a brothel in the Olympic Village! I’ve never seen such depravity in my life.”
