In the new four-part season of the BBC World Service's podcast Amazing Sports Stories, we hear the true story of the Black 14, a group of 14 young black American football players who were kicked out of their university teams. In 1969, he wanted to protest racial discrimination at other universities in Wyoming.
The story of the Black 14 will continue to help reform and change the perception of national athletes who take a stand.
American author and presenter BA Parker speaks with eight surviving players and takes us back to the turbulent 1960s, and the injustice of 14 black players being fired from their college teams for wanting to protest. I will explore. As a result, they lost their scholarships and most were unable to continue their studies at the University of Wyoming and had to drop out, which had a significant impact on their lives.
Presenter BA Parker said: “The fight for dignity of 14 black people has had a lasting impact on American sport, and their stories deserve to be told. In this BBC World Service series, we invite listeners to: We invite you to look back and see how far we have come since that tumultuous moment in 1969, and how far we still have to go in advocating for equality and confronting racial injustice. I want to help the United States and the world.”

Amazing Sport Stories is a BBC World Service podcast about sport, but not as you know it. There are also podcasts about champions, team news, and billionaire superstars. This podcast is about courage, breaking rules, and expecting the unexpected. We've searched all over the world for these stories told in mini-seasons and short stories. Previous mini-seasons included the story of a 12-year-old girl from Canada who just wanted to play ice hockey with the boys. When she was told she couldn't do that, she headed from the ice rink to the courtroom, turning a sports dispute into a legal battle. Previous short stories include an ultra race through 200 miles of underground tunnels where hallucinations are almost guaranteed.
