Welcome to Stuff’s MWC 2024 Awards. It’s time to curate the best products from the cavernous halls of this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The list includes powerful smartphone cameras and transparent laptops.
From wearable smartphone concepts to smart rings, this was a great show.
We’ve only highlighted the main ones below, but there are many other announcements worth noting.
See them all on our MWC 2024 hub page. With that said (in no particular order), here are the awards for MWC 2024:
one plus watch 2

Many reviewers expected more from the original OnePlus Watch. But his second attempt at the company is certainly shaping up to be quite exciting. The OnePlus Watch 2, to give its full (if not obvious) name, is a fitness-focused smartwatch with a secure but premium design. But it’s its impressive battery life that grabs the real headlines. Somehow, he can use it for a whopping 100 hours on a single charge. Therefore, it is a great option for power users. This battery life is also rated for full smart functionality. That means you don’t have to limit yourself to super battery-saving modes that disable GPS or screen on time. This watch is packed with smart features to track your health, sleep, and fitness, including GPS and heart rate monitoring. At $299 (UK price TBA), the OnePlus Watch 2 is becoming an attractive option for those looking for a feature-rich smartwatch that won’t leave you stranded without charging.
honor magic 6 pro

Available in black and attractive Epi Green, the Magic Pro 6 attracted quite a bit of attention on the MWC show floor. Packed with the power of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, it has an impressive 2.5K 6.8-inch LPTO display with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, and it also has some AI tricks on board. These come in the form of Magic Portals. It has more intuitive sharing, detects addresses in text and automatically directs you to Google Maps, and more. Overall, it means fewer steps to perform daily tasks, which isn’t a bad thing if done properly. On the photography side, it has a 180MP OIS periscope telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. It also has a 50MP ultra-wide camera and his 50MP main camera sensor for photographers who want sharp shots.
xiaomi 14 ultra

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is easily one of the most exciting smartphones we’ve seen this year. At least from a photography perspective. The main camera is equipped with a powerful 1-inch sensor, and in combination with a continuously variable aperture from f/1.63 to f/4.0, you can achieve realistic bokeh and extremely sharp shots depending on your mood. Masu. There’s also a 12mm ultra-wide camera with f/1.8 aperture and 5cm focal length for macro snapshots. This is flanked by his two telephoto lenses: a 75mm, f/1.8 floating lens and a 120mm, f/2.5. In-sensor crop and zoom also allows for focal lengths of 46mm and 240mm. Additionally, an optional camera kit can further enhance the entire experience. Built-in battery, dedicated video recording button, zoom dial, and 2-phase shutter button give you extra grip. Not to mention the premium construction, beautiful screen, powerful internals, and fast charging. It’s a very impressive piece of work and I can’t wait to put it through its paces.
lenovo transparent laptop

what do we do need A transparent laptop? Probably not. And yet, it speaks to our love for all things technology. This certainly deserves an MWC 2024 award. The concept see-through laptop on display at Lenovo’s booth appropriately and simultaneously blew our minds and left us equally astonished. Featuring a transparent keyboard to match the translucent Micro-LED screen, it looks like it came straight out of a cyberpunk future. We love its bold and crazy design. I’m sure there are some useful applications that go beyond the cool factor. And some of the same design elements may trickle down to notebooks in the near future. But for now, it gives us the dopamine rush that only crazy concept technology can provide. We salute Lenovo.
Xiaomi AI Portrait

Xiaomi’s AI Portrait feature was announced at MWC 2024, and the feature is pretty impressive to say the least. Basically, if you have about 20 photos of yourself or another subject, you can instantly create photo-realistic versions of them. In theory, whether you want to stand in front of an active volcano or skydive into a pool full of sharks, you can do it all without risking a single hair on your precious head. You should be able to run Naturally, strict limits will be put in place to maintain respect. This feature, which debuted on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, is sure to roll out to more phones in the future, opening up a whole new world of WhatsApp group meme possibilities.
samsung galaxy ring

After several teasers were released earlier this year, we finally got to see the real version of Samsung’s Galaxy Ring. And this will be his nomination for the MWC 2024 award. Aiming to bring the fight directly to athletes like Oura, the smart ring promises to offer him lightweight health and sleep tracking, with three attractive finishes and multiple sizes to choose from. There’s no official price or release date yet (and it’ll only work with Samsung Galaxy devices at launch), but it could be the first smart ring to push the wearable format into the mainstream. We look forward to a full review of this as it arrives on our desks at Staff Headquarters.
moto cuff

More than a decade ago, we were looking around for a bendable and wearable concept mobile phone. However, while they were all in 2D format, Motorola has finally created something tangible that pretty much realizes its initial vision in every way. Called the Moto Cuff, it’s an actual phone concept that the company showed off late last year. In person, it’s a pretty attractive bendable screen that’s held in place with a fabric-covered back that hides a number of internal hinges, including one that fits snugly around your wrist. It can be bent and held in various shapes. It doesn’t exactly solve a practical problem, but it’s eye-catching, and unlike any other, it’s a mobile phone from the wild west, when Nokia ruled and smartphones came in all sorts of crazy formats. It reminds me of the days of telephones.
TCL Nxtpaper 14 Pro

At first glance, TCL Nxtpaper 14 Pro looks like just another tablet, but once you turn it on, its screen looks like something unique. Unusual matte display with Nxtpaper 3.0 technology that filters out up to 61% of harmful blue light and eliminates annoying reflections and glare. In person, the effect is similar to that of a paper-like e-ink screen, but with the benefits of full color, deeper contrast, and a much faster refresh rate. Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 CPU and 12GB of RAM (with a substantial 12,000mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and 256GB storage), it’s a respectable tablet in every other way, and we think it’s a great choice for the future. We look forward to expanding beyond the world. Asian markets are expected later this year.
