Australia’s Josh Hazlewood said after beating Namibia that eliminating England from the T20 World Cup would be “in our best interests and probably everybody else’s”.

Adam Zampa took 4-12 from his four overs to see his side into the Super 8s with one Group B match remaining.
The final Group B match between Australia and Scotland in St Lucia on Saturday could decide England’s fate, with captain Jos Buttler knowing his team must win against Oman and Namibia in their remaining group games.
“There’s a chance we’ll play England again at some point in this tournament and, as I said, they’re probably one of the top few teams on their day, or we’ve played them in T20 cricket and really struggled,” Hazlewood said.
“If we can get them out of the tournament, it would be in our best interest and probably everyone else’s.
“It’s a weird thing to say. We’ve never been in this position as a team before. I don’t think it’s going to happen. We’ll talk about it or we won’t, we’ll try and play again like we did tonight. Again, that’s up to the guys, not me.”
What’s next?
Australia’s final Group B match will be against Scotland in St Lucia at 1am on Sunday, while England take on Namibia in Antigua at 6pm on Saturday. Sky SportsFirstly, England will face Oman on Thursday at 8pm.
