What connected the learned and the uneducated, the famous and the poor, those in saffron and those in designer clothes, those who arrived by plane and those who trudged along? Was it? Ram’s name served as an invisible thread that tied together an ocean of humanity…or rather, an ocean of devotion.
Finally, we could put a face to a name that has been a part of our culture since Treta Yug. At a time when there were no planes, trains, telephones, WhatsApp, emails, photographs, etc., Ram certainly had a charisma and is remembered for its fondness and devotion even after thousands of years.
The construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya cemented the eternal truth. Bhagwan Ram was born in Ayodhya and walked the earth in human form. He is not a mythical character. He is part of our history. The Mandir is a testament to the faith of all those who believe they are lucky to be born in this country.
Our parents called us “Ram” on many occasions. They say in greeting, “Ram Ram!”, in sadness, “He is Ram”, in bewilderment, “Hey Ram”, in despair, “Ram Burrows”, in conviction So, “Ram Baan”, in death he said “Ram Naam Satya”. Yes! ”.
The live broadcast of Pran Pratishta showed a large number of people in the crowd in Ayodhya. A lot of Bollywood was there. He also felt that most politicians in responsible positions do not go to Ayodhya, but rather oversee the celebrations in their respective states. People danced, distributed mithai, laughed, celebrated and cried together in bliss.
Bhagwan Ram crossed Bharat and visited Prayagraj, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers. Panchvati where Sitaji is kidnapped by Ravan. Lepakshi where Jatayu is defeated by Ravan. Kishkindha is where Bhagwan Ram met Hanuman, befriended Sugriva and killed Bali. He performed Shivling Sthapana in Rameshwaram and started construction of Ram Setu up to Lanka.
We are people passionate about what we believe in. Prayers and rituals are an important part of our culture. After years of prayers, the idols of Balak Ram, Ram Mandir and Puran Pratishtha, were created.
Puran Pratishtha is a ritual in which the deity is invited to enter the idol and reside there. We believe that divinity resides in every atom in the universe. In humans, it is in the awakening stage. Inanimate objects are in a sleep stage. There, the divinity latent in the stone idol was summoned, became powerful, and came back to life! Just as an ordinary person achieves greatness and commands respect by taking oath as a Prime Minister or a Governor, so the prayers and praises of millions of devotees who participate in Pran Pratishtha are recognized among the idols. He invites the divinity to breathe into him and creates an idol of it. Be worthy of worship!
Are prayers, mantras and rituals enough? Hanuman reported that Lanka was echoing with the recitation of the Vedas and the air was filled with sacrificial smoke. However, despite such ritualistic worship, the Rakshasas were evil. Ravan sought to attain Prakriti (manifestation) and not Purusha (creator). He only wanted Sita and not Ram! His desire caused his end. His ten heads show his mastery over the four Vedas and his six Shastras. But what was the use of that learning? He destroyed his entire clan. His son, brother, and relatives were killed. His country was reduced to ashes. Before his death Ravan exclaimed: Don’t ruin your life by living like I’ve lived. ”
I remember the bhajans. “Ram naam ki rot hai, plundering liquor. Antokar pachaega jab pran jayenge choat! Basking in the bliss of Ramnaam, make our hearts like Ayodhya and awaken the inner Atma. Let the rum shine in all its glory! Savor this moment in history!
