Sunny Edwards said thieves broke into her home and stole the “precious” ring she was given when she became IBF flyweight world champion.
Police were called at 2:13 a.m. Monday to reports of a burglary at a home in Sheffield.
Three men allegedly broke into the property and stole multiple valuables, including a ring given to Edwards after he won the 2021 flyweight world title.
They stole something from my house last night. I’ll let you keep the sweatshirt and coat, but if you give me back my ring, we’ll call it a truce.
Nothing of value. The only valuable material is 20 years of hard work and three subsequent world title defenses. pic.twitter.com/vrVuGqnnY8

Edwards, 28, said: “Sadly, last night thieves broke into my house and took away some personal items I owned, including my valuable IBF ring, which was given to me after I won my first world championship. I stole it.
“Although the ring itself has no monetary value, it has immense sentimental value to me and my family as it represents my years of hard graft and dedication both inside and outside of the boxing ring. there is.
“It’s bad enough to have it stolen from your own home, but to have your ring returned safely is satisfying.”
South Yorkshire Police said officers had made contact with Mr Edwards and were questioning him.
The Londoner won the IBF flyweight world title in April 2021 with a unanimous points victory over South Africa’s Morti Mthalane.
In December, Edwards lost his belt to 24-year-old American Jesse Rodriguez for the first time in his professional career.
