Southern passengers face disruption, ground services disrupted

There was major disruption to London Overground on Thursday morning, causing significant delays and the closure of some lines.

There will be no services between Willesden Junction and Richmond while Network Rail repairs a signal failure at Acton Central.

This is causing disruption to services running to and from Stratford. As a result, trains may be canceled, delayed or changed, the National Railways said.

There are also significant delays between our New Crossgate branch and our West Croydon and Crystal Palace branches due to delays in finishing engineering work. Commuters reported that all trains were suspended.

Overrun works taking place between Norwood Junction and London Bridge are causing disruption to trains in the south and may prevent some services from calling the station.

There are also some delays on the Piccadilly line, but there is good service on all other lines.

Disruptions affecting southern rail services

Southern and Thameslink services can now operate in both directions between London Bridge and Norwood Junction or Crystal Palace stations in south London, Southern said.

Some trains no longer stop at these stations due to too much construction earlier.

However, Southern Airlines said there may still be some “quick fixes” made while it works to restore its normal schedule.

Trains are currently suspended between Willesden Junction and Richmond.

Disruption is expected until 8 a.m.

Transport for London said delays in finishing civil works were also causing significant delays between New Crossgate and West Croydon/Crystal Palace.
