The SleepScore API allows fitness and wellness apps to provide personalized sleep improvement solutions to their members and drive engagement.
In an effort to help the fitness and wellness community get more quality z’s every night, SleepScore Labs is widening its net.
SleepScore, the global leader in enterprise sleep science and sleep improvement, has partnered with the Lake Nona Impact Forum to make the SleepScore API available to many health and fitness apps. In doing so, users of participating apps will be able to sleep better and enjoy a wealth of ancillary health benefits. Similarly, the SleepScore API increases engagement and retention across those apps.
“We are excited to bring the power of our evidence-based sleep improvement solutions to the many great health and wellness apps that will benefit from improved engagement, retention, and outcomes.” SleepScore Labs products said Uma Shivanand, director. “It is our mission to make a meaningful impact on this important aspect of people’s lives.”

Using data from over 230 scientific studies, 61 peer-reviewed publications, and over 360 million hours of contextual sleep data, the SleepScore API helps users improve their sleep habits. After collecting the user’s sleep data through the wearable, the program records and compares it before laying out a personalized sleep journey and presenting sleep content materials, cognitive behavioral therapy options, and a sleep coaching system. According to the platform, a SleepScore user says that per month he enjoys 10 to 26 hours of extra sleep.
These results, when applied to new platforms, are expected to drive engagement as the demand for quality rest increases. SleepScore already has a proven track record in that regard, with 3-4 engagements per day and a reported 60% retention rate after 30 days, higher than the industry average of 8%.
The release of the SleepScore API comes as we continue to grow our focus on sleep as a form of personal health. Therabody and United recently recognized the growing demand for improved sleep while traveling and agreed to a partnership to provide sleep-promoting amenities on flights.
Chris Hemsworth’s fitness and wellness platform, Centr, also recently released a new audio series aimed at improving users’ sleep performance. LumosTech, a sleep-focused technology company, partnered with the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun last season to enhance sleep habits with light therapy products.
