Venice is never far from the cultural conversation.Yorgos Lanthimos’s poor thing, currently dominating the awards circuit, was first screened at the city’s 80th annual film festival. This milestone was achieved after Cartier, which has been main sponsor for three years, was commissioned by musician Solley for the legendary Teatro La La Fenice, and the house has announced that it will support the next season at the opera house. This is the first initiative in a new initiative.

This season’s masterpiece is Rossini. Barbiere di SivigliaA masterpiece of comic timing that remains undiminished 200 years after its premiere. Conductor Renato Palumbo counts down the seconds until he conducts the orchestra in that famous overture, riding his evening watch set with 165 brilliant cut diamonds. Each diamond shines as brightly as the many divas that graced La Fenice’s historic stage.
