This comes despite the group’s restaurant at the Park Tower Knightsbridge Hotel reporting significant increases in sales and profits in its latest financial results.
In its accounts for the year ended December 31, 2022, filed with the Companies Office, Nuslet UK Limited reported a 66% increase in turnover to £13.6m from £8.2m the previous year.
Pre-tax profit increased by 33% from £2.3m to £3.3m, with EBITDA of £4m (2021: £2.9m).
The group said it is “fully committed” to improving its energy efficiency year on year and has sought to introduce several initiatives at an operational level to achieve this.
This includes turning off central heating systems after closing or during peak hours when heating demand is low, and turning off lights during closing hours.
Additionally, the group replaced halogen lighting with LEDs, replaced gas heaters with electric alternatives, and introduced biodegradable and recyclable takeout containers.
Founded in 2010 by Gökçe in Istanbul, Nusr-Et currently operates 21 restaurants internationally, primarily concentrated in the United States and the Middle East.
The group, known for its generously seasoned steaks, has opened a restaurant in London. back in 2021.
When it opened, the restaurant’s menu featured a number of gold-leaf-wrapped steaks, including a 1,450-pound golden tomahawk.
However, gold leaf was subsequently removed from London menus in 2022, reportedly due to supply chain issues.
