The World Snooker Championship final was canceled after a spectator fell ill inside the Crucible Theatre.
The match between Kyren Wilson and Welshman Jack Jones was briefly stopped in the 23rd frame because a fan watching in the stands threw up as Jones took his table.
As the female spectators were escorted out of the arena by security, match official Paul Collier approached Jones and stopped the final match, telling him: “There’s someone in the audience who’s feeling unwell. Could you please wait?” ”

At the end of the frame that Jones won, a cleaning crew arrived to clean up the mess, prompting cheers from the audience. However, this resulted in an additional six minute delay to the start of his 24th frame. BBC presenter Hazel Irvine then revealed to his viewers at home the reason for the delay.
The final, which began on Sunday, is now in its final session with Wilson leading 15-10. After trailing 7-0, Jones came back into the fight and won 10 of the next 16 frames to complete a stunning comeback.
Before this year’s World Championships, the 30-year-old from Cambran had never reached a final in his career, reaching the quarter-finals of last year’s Crucible but losing in the semi-finals of the 2022 Gibraltar Open. Regardless of whether he beats Wilson or not, he will be in for by far the biggest payday of his career.
The final is a best of 35 frames. That is, the player who first wins 18 frames will be named the world champion. The final session begins at 7 p.m.
