To support the University’s journey towards a zero-carbon future, IT Services will be hosting IT Kit Amnesty Week from Monday 15th April to Friday 19th April.
During the week, you can bring your unwanted electronics and equipment to campus drop-off locations to have them reused or recycled through our partner Stone Group.
Drop-off point:
Equipment return locations are available at various locations on campus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Kilburn Building 1st Floor (all days)
- Main library 1st floor (all days)
- University Place Foyer (Monday, April 15th)
- Student Union Building 1st Floor (Tuesday, April 16th)
- Fallowfield Campus Central Reception (Wednesday, April 17th)
- Stopford Building (Thursday 18th April)
- Faculty of Engineering Building A, 1st floor (Friday, April 19th)
what we can accept
You can donate a variety of old equipment, including:
- Laptop
- desktop computer
- screen/monitor
- mobile phone
- Tablet/iPad
- Game console: PlayStation, Xbox
- game controller and gamepad
- Portable game consoles: Switch, Game Boy
- Computer accessories: monitor/screen, keyboard, mouse, speakers
- computer parts
- laptop battery
- docking station
- cable and lead wire
- memory stick and external drive
- printer
what we can’t accept
- We cannot bring in severely damaged devices, but cracks and chips are fine.
Also, be sure to log out when handing over your Apple device. Apple devices have additional security features and should be logged out so that they can be erased and reused whenever possible.
