When it comes to the beauty industry, there is a lot of unnecessary stuff out there. We all know this to be true. We’re all for doing whatever it takes to feel good, but sometimes it’s best to invest in products that don’t cost a lot but actually do good things for your face, body, and mind. Sometimes I want to.
Understood! I see, I understand.
As someone who tries and tests beauty products for a living, I’ve found a lot of really great products. But also a lot very meaningless A product that is mostly just pure marketing and fluff.
Watch: Remember when I tried the 10-layer foundation hack? I do. Let’s take another look. The post continues below.
So when Selena Gomez’s latest Rare Beauty series, the ‘Finding Comfort’ collection, showed up on my desk, I was immediately intrigued.
If you haven’t heard of this new range, it’s essentially a line of skin and hair products focused on encouraging a holistic experience that supports self-care. This includes a Body & Hair Fragrance Mist ($55), Hydrating Body Lotion ($55), Hydrating Hand Cream ($35), and Stop & Soothe Aromatherapy Pen ($39).
yes! aromatherapy pen. It caught my attention immediately.
Because, apart from body and hair products, Do you really need to pay $39 for an aromatherapy pen? Is this something we really need in our lives? And is it actually any good? So many questions.
I tried.
What is the Rare Beauty Find Comfort Stop & Soothe Pen?
As mentioned earlier, the Rare Beauty Find Comfort Stop & Soothe Aromatherapy Pen is $39 and available at Sephora. Described on Rare Beauty’s website as a “weightless, fast-absorbing gel,” it says, “The soothing peppermint and lavender scent helps you relax and refresh your senses on the spot.” .
This formula comes in a leak-proof click pen that’s easy to chuck in your bag for refilling on the go.
This is shown below.
The formula itself has a gel-like consistency (although it looks more like a lightweight moisturizer or lotion). Simply click on the bottom of the applicator to dispense the product in single doses. The top of the pen has a silicone-type tip that can be massaged onto the temples, back of the neck, and behind the ears to soothe and relax.
The scent is a combination of lavender, peppermint, and tonka bean oil.
How did you proceed?
Now, as a preface, I really want to say, don’t love Lavender scent. One of my high school teachers smelled like she bathed in pure essential oils and spread them on toast in the morning. Now, just the whisper of its scent reminds me of headaches and homework anxiety.
I was also worried that the scent would be so strong that I would walk around the office smelling like a hippie. But wchicken I dabbed it on my wrists and neck on my way to work on Monday morning (when I was already feeling the stress creeping in) and was surprised to find that the scent was more subtle than I expected. It actually smelled more fresh and minty than the headache-inducing lavender scent I was expecting. nice!
I also really liked the refreshing feeling after applying it. It was absorbed into the skin quickly and didn’t feel greasy or greasy at all. I also applied it to my temple area and it didn’t ruin my makeup.
When the gel dries it has an almost perfume-like scent (I had a soft vanilla tonka bean scent) and I liked that it didn’t leave much behind. I couldn’t decide if my nose was just getting used to it or if it was really subtle. When I asked one of her colleagues, she said she couldn’t smell anything. I don’t know if that’s a good sign or a bad sign. It’s hard to say.
Throughout the week I tried applying it in different places. I applied it directly behind my ears, in my palms (hold it over my face and take a deep breath), and during the day I just sniffed it directly from the pen like a weirdo.
verdict.
Now, let’s get this straight — no one needs aromatherapy pen.just like someone isn’t need 7 different serums. flat If it’s from the lovely Selena Gomez.
Now, it might also be worth knowing that I’m not really into woo-woo stuff. I don’t use incense or oil diffusers, and I don’t do meditation or breathing exercises. Therefore, aromatherapy pens are not in the normal range for me.
I can’t say that the pen itself helped reduce my stress, but the scent had a pretty calming effect, and the habit of applying the pen, smelling it, and taking deep breaths forced me into a moment of mindfulness. I think he let me. This will help you recognize when you need a break, allowing you to stop and focus on something other than the screen in front of you.
For some people, the scent may not be so strong that they may not feel it is really effective. I really liked the subtlety of the scent, but it wasn’t very long-lasting and I had to reapply it throughout the day. However, the convenience of being able to keep it in my bag and refill it on the go is really satisfying.
All in all, if I had to spend $39 on a product to calm my mind and relieve stress, I’d probably rather spend it on a lip product or face mask that’s perfect at the end of a long day. Masu. But if you like this kind of thing and have the money, go for it!
If you’d like to check it out for yourself, the pen and the entire new range are available now at Sephora.
