After five alpine stages, Bailey Christie secured the U21 men’s victory by finishing the final stage more than eight seconds ahead of J.T. Fisher. Sasha Kim finished third, 11 seconds back, before being beaten by a distant fourth place, more than 49 seconds back.
Ellie Hoskin, who won two stages, won the Women’s U21 race in round five by 37 seconds over fellow Canadian racer Emy Lunn. Simona Kuczynkova was third, 48 seconds back, and was the last rider to finish within a minute of the race leader.
Hattie Harden took a huge win on the longest stage, beating the runner up by 28 seconds to claim her second race win of 2024. The British rider started the day with a lead of over 24 seconds, but no rider could match her on the long Alpine stages. Ella Connolly finished round five with her first runner-up result of the season, with Isabeau Courdurier taking third place.
Jack Moir won the last three stages in Switzerland, making it three consecutive stage wins and taking the fifth round victory by 14 seconds. Moir was unbeatable on the Alpine trails from stage three onwards, with no rider able to match his speed. The battle for second place was between Yeti teammates Slomomir Lukasik and Richie Rude, with series overall leader Rude having to settle for third place, 21 seconds behind the winner. Lukasik came close to his first World Cup win, but had to settle for second place again.
The series will go on hiatus before the final round in France to conclude the 2024 season.
