PTO has announced London as the newest stage of the 2024 PTO Tour through the acquisition of the iconic Challenge London Triathlon.
London, UK: The Professional Triathlete Organization (PTO) has acquired the iconic Challenge London Triathlon from the Challenge family for inclusion in its rapidly expanding 2024 global tour.
The world’s largest triathlon, which has been running for 20 years and attracted more than 14,000 participants at its peak, this famous race features a closed road course that takes place entirely within central London. Starting and finishing at the Excel London Exhibition Center, the swim takes place in the protected Royal Victoria Dock. A multi-lap bike route from Docklands to Westminster and back, taking in some of London’s most memorable landmarks, including Big Ben and the London Eye. And at the end, you will run multiple laps around the Docklands.
In addition to the existing race schedule already planned for the weekend of July 27-28, 2024, the PTO will add a made-for-TV 100km triathlon race pitting the world’s top 20 women’s pros against the top 20 men’s pros. . It will circle the capital and be broadcast live around the world.

Challenge London saw thrilling victories for top professional triathletes Sam Laidlaw (France) and Fenella Langridge (UK), as well as more than 6,000 amateur participants on 6 August 2023. Middle-distance races later this year include both professional and amateur 100km distances, plus a full schedule of shoulder events including Olympic Distance, Olympic Distance Relay, Sprint Distance, Sprint Relay and Super Sprint be done.
