A veteran of the Normandy landings met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in France on Thursday at a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings and described him as the “savior of the people.”
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced the World War II survivor to President Zelenskiy, and the two embraced, posed for photos together and called each other “heroes.”
World leaders gathered in Normandy to commemorate this day.
