Downhill World Cup racing is back with Fort William returning as the series opener for the first time since 2013. To celebrate the 21st World Cup or World Championships, Fort William’s course has been renovated for 2024, reducing overall track times. Increased speeds and the always brutal rocks on the course have already pummeled bikes and riders with much carnage during practice.
Schedules have been adjusted for 2024, with riders returning to a schedule with morning practice on the first day, followed by timed training on the course for elites and juniors, to see who has the most confidence this weekend. This will be shown first. Vali Herr and Dakota Norton set the fastest times of the day as they ramped up their new team structure for the 2024 season.
There won’t be long a wait as everyone restarts for the qualifiers and the Elites face off for a second time in the semi-finals.
