CCTV footage has been released of a man suspected of attacking a 60-year-old man in a “racially motivated” assault.
The Metropolitan Police Department released this image as part of the search for the suspect who assaulted a man in his 60s by slamming him to the ground on November 3, 2024 at around 9:50 p.m.
The incident occurred at Gardens Food and Wine on Manchester Road in the Isle of Dogs. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Police said the attack was being treated as racially motivated, and the Met launched an investigation and recovered surveillance cameras from the store in a bid to reveal the names of the thugs who carried out the attack. .
Detective Inspector Shaun Wakem, from Tower Hamlets Local Policing Team, said: “This was an unprovoked attack and the victim is incredibly shaken up.”
“We do not condone this kind of behavior. If you recognize the man in the image, please contact us immediately.”
