An expectant mother has divided opinion online after she shared a controversial list of names for her beloved baby.
Nara Smith, a model and influencer based in the US, is facing backlash from trolls after publishing her own list online.
She posted the video on her TikTok handle @naraazizasmith, which has already been viewed by around 10 million people.
The 22-year-old is married to fellow model Lucky Blue Smith and already has two children.
They are the parents of a girl named Rumble Honey Smith and a boy named Slim Easy Smith.
The couple faced backlash when they welcomed their son in 2022 and announced his name to the world. She was criticized for putting a target on a baby’s back for bullies at school.
But they managed to ignore the haters, and Nala is still a fan of the more unusual name.
In a TikTok posted last month, she told viewers, “These are baby names on my list, but I’m not going to use them.” FYI, my kids have very unique names.
“My daughter’s name is Rumble Honey Smith and my son’s name is Slim Easy Smith. This may be a bit far-fetched, but let’s get started.”
“For girls names, I really love the names Odie, Pepper, and Dawn,” the model exclaimed.
“They’re all really cute to me. I really like Cherry as a middle name, but my husband doesn’t really like that name.
“I also like the second name Bubble. It might be controversial, but I love the name Pear as a first name.”
Turning to boys, she added: “As you all remember, I still love the name Frosty. What else was there? Sunny, Silver, Zen. There are a few of them, but I won’t use them for this baby.” plug.”
However, commenters were quick to express shock at the unusual choice, with one caption: “Slim Easy and Rumble Honey?” what’.
A second person asked: “Slim and easy?” Like Eminem?” Nala replied, “Not like Slim, which is an iconic old name that was popular at the time.”
On the other hand, a third person wrote, “What’s the baby’s name…what should we do when it grows up?” with a crying face emoji.
Another added: “I think people will forget that they are children and eventually become adults.” Imagine telling someone your name is Slim Easy in a job interview. ”
Others joked: “How about Applebottom jeans?” and “Frosty…sister, please be serious.”
Someone else quipped, “What do you name your kids or cats?” and someone else agreed, “Puppy names.”
One confused viewer asked, “Why is the name so unique?”, to which the model explained that she likes “no one having the same name, or at least not common”.
Another said, “It’s such a cute name, but I feel like it won’t suit her when she gets older.”
However, not everyone hated it, with some users liking the name, writing: “I love all of your name choices.” It’s very unique and cute. ”
Another said: “I love that my baby has a unique name!” Your child has a very nice name! My children’s names are River, Arrow, Storm, and Ember.
Meanwhile, another person pointed out: “All these babies are going to look like models.” These names fit perfectly. ”
This comes shortly after the most popular baby names of 2023 were announced, with a new choice taking first place on the list for girls.
While Muhammad continues to reign supreme as a boy’s name, Baby Center, a leading pregnancy and parenting company, says a girl’s name, previously dethroned from the top spot, has regained the throne.
Olivia returns to the number one spot in 2023, thanks in part to the way Baby Center ranks names.
