I’m sailing with a great captain. He is such a great captain that he turned the Canadian economy on a dime just to build the Titan.
I’m on a state-of-the-art e-mail ship. It is the Royal Canadian Electric Mail Ship Titan and from now on forever she will be called the RCEMS Titan.
The building, which took almost nine years to construct, is a marvel of environmental engineering. Building RCEMS Titan required multiple levels of carbon pricing (hereafter referred to as taxes). The cost of building Titan was so high that Canada’s economy was on the verge of collapse. But I’m sailing with a great captain. This captain is so great that he turned the Canadian economy on a dime just to build the Titan.
When we set sail on our maiden voyage, it was quite a tough voyage at first. A nasty new disease called Covid 19 has reared its ugly head and caused all sorts of problems. The pesky truck drivers have truly revolted. They refused to deliver caviar on their maiden voyage. But he tricked them, declared a state of emergency and seized their bank accounts. They were forced to go back to work, the price of caviar went up, and carbon taxes had to be raised to pay for it all. But there is a lot of caviar on the ship.
As the maiden voyage drew to a close, the captain needed to find a way to recharge the batteries a little more for the trip home. He found a friend who would lend him electricity for the cost of his dental plan.
Nearing the end of the voyage, the radar operator reported some ice ahead. But the RCEMS Titan is a great ship. Our fearless captain said we simply sail toward our destiny. It is a distant land where all are called the land of freedom.
