When is “one property touching another property” just one property? When does one property buy two properties in separate agreements many years apart? Robert Abela says so.
As you know, Robert Abella was caught cheating because of his aggressiveness and hostility. Lately, he has routinely launched scathing attacks on those who have exposed his dodgy dealings, and has further disparaged his office with his embarrassing belligerence.
In the latest episode of Robert’s rant, he raged about Arnold Cassola’s complaints against the Director of Standards.. In 2022, Abela and his wife Lidia bought a 500 square meter plot of land in Şevkija for 180,000 euros. There’s nothing wrong with that, but the problem is that despite earning only €65,000 and spending €180,000, Abela’s savings increased by €12,000 and he acquired an additional €20,000 in government shares that year .. At least that’s what Mr. Abella’s financial statements say.
The numbers just don’t match, so Abela hasn’t sold any property or won the lottery, so how on earth can she spend €180,000 on an annual income of €65,000 and still be €32,000 richer?
Of course, Abela may have good reasons for inconsistently declaring assets;Prompted by his furious reaction to a simple question: “Why didn’t you declare that property in Sheukiya to be worth 180,000 euros?” Abella is unlikely to have it.
In what must be one of Abella’s most contradictory answers, he claimed to have declared his new wealth.
Abela’s declaration for 2021 listed the Sheukiyah property. His manifesto aimed at 2022, when he acquired the second Xewkija property, this was also listed as “Xewkija property”. Abela is trying to deceive the public by pretending that the new land he acquired in 2022 is the same land he previously declared.
The original property was a farmhouse in Xewkija Abela, which was purchased from a German couple in 2010 for €268,000. He has now purchased land adjacent to the site.
Even Mark Lawrence-Zammit of the Times protested: “That was another property.” Abella rudely interrupted, saying, “No, no, no, it’s the same property,” but immediately began to refute his own claims. “A property purchased through a plurality contract (diversi kuntratti), it is one property, one in contact with the other”.
Abela thinks we are stupid and can convince us that two properties next to each other are the same as one property. He is trying to make us swallow the nonsense that he acquired “one” property through two separate contracts (one signed in 2010 and one signed 12 years later).
And to distract from the gaslighting and flimsy excuses, he attacked his current priority target, Professor Arnold Cassola.
In a furious attack, he tried to humiliate Cassola, accusing him of “disrespecting the seriousness of the duties of a standards commissioner.” He said that despite the report’s hard facts and figures, Cassola’s report was “baseless and baseless.” He used words to mock Cassola. “Ironically, every week Professor Cassola dreams up reports about me and my friends, most of which have no basis whatsoever. And the Commissioner of Standards decides as he should, so He (Cassola) says the chief is controlled by me.”
“I have no hesitation in presenting the facts that are clear from the asset declaration,” he bluffed, without presenting the facts despite repeated questions.
If you could explain that subtracting 180,000 euros from 65,000 euros gives you 32,000 euros, you should, but you can’t. Instead, those in power attack those who make it difficult for them to lie. Cassola’s questions are legitimate and he is asking questions that we all want answered, so Abela has an obligation to answer them politely and respectfully.
Arnold Cassola is not alone in facing the wrath of the wounded prime minister.
The gentle Mark Lawrence Zammit graciously pointed out the obvious to Robert Abela. “How did you pay for it when your income didn’t decrease from one year to the next?” At that point Abella completely lost his temper and attacked the reporter.
“How did you pay for it? The second irony is that the blogs in this country that everything is linked to don’t just tell you how you were paid, but from which bank account and the means of financing. That information is already public, so you should know enough by now,” he bellowed. .
What is “this country’s blog”? And how are they “all connected”? And is this obviously public information?
The reporter was surprised and said, “I don’t know, so could you tell me?”
However, Abela was too hysterical to realize that she was bringing shame to herself and her homeland. “I know, I know,” Abela insisted to reporters. “You can find out by following blogs. There are certain blogs that publish information about payment methods.”
The reporter was perplexed and protested, “That’s a pretty vague way of saying it, I don’t understand it.”
“No, no, I’m not being vague. Payment was made by check, cheque, and I didn’t have a penny in cash,” he bellowed.
Of course, that’s inexplicable. “Check” has no meaning at all. Where did the money come from to receive the check? What bank account? Whose bank account?
The numbers still don’t add up, and Abela doesn’t know that nothing she says means anything. He is always vague and inscrutable, and he never gives a clear answer, because there are too many things he wants to hide.
Honest people don’t tell you to follow my blog, they just tell you the truth every time.
