One Air’s London-Hong Kong flight declares state of emergency

A One Air cargo plane flying from London to Hong Kong declared a state of emergency, causing the 7,700 aircraft to squawk shortly after departure.

Airline HGO Flight 211, a Boeing 747 cargo plane from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Hong Kong (HKG), declared a state of emergency during its departure from London. The aircraft is currently on an appropriate diversion to Amsterdam (AMS).

Flight data shows the long-haul flight declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 while establishing descent at cruise level FL250 (25,000 feet). The nature of the emergency is not yet known.

After a period of waiting off the coast of the Netherlands, HGO Flight 211 is currently continuing its approach to Amsterdam AMS.

Air flight HGO211 has landed at its destination, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).

The nature of the problem that caused this morning’s unscheduled diversion is not yet known. The aircraft that made the long-haul cargo rotation to Hong Kong this morning is his G-ONEE, a Boeing 747-433ERSF registration. The 33-year-old wide-body cargo plane belongs to the airline One Air.

One Air is a new British all-cargo airline that launched in 2022. The company operates a fleet of Boeing 747-400 freighters and provides charter services to customers in the international cargo transportation, logistics and air charter markets.
