Temporary traffic lights will be installed on London Road, Shrewsbury from March 18th to April 16th. [2024]a work by National Grid.
The works aim to facilitate the removal of overhead high and low voltage lines adjacent to the new housing development on London Road. Overhead lines will be replaced via underground diversions of cables within the road.
Contractors on behalf of National Grid will be excavating along London Road between Kingston Drive and Weir Hill Road during the works to install the new power lines.
For safety, traffic control personnel will be on site from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to install temporary traffic lights and adjust signal timing to monitor and respond to traffic delays. Where possible, temporary traffic lights will be removed after hours and on weekends to minimize disruption to the area.
Shropshire Council’s inspection team will monitor the progress of the work to ensure the contractor is working efficiently and to the agreed schedule.
Residents and businesses will be notified and advance warning signs will be placed at the site two weeks before construction begins.
