Incredible women who changed the world The characters were so vivid and rich, they really drew me in and really entertained me. Elena Breschi She’s like Sacagawea and Frida Kahlo. Her energy onstage was so lively and I loved the way she interacted with the audience and Georgia.Anelisa Lamola She was perfect for introducing the world to Amelia Earhart, but also deeply moved audiences as Rosa Parks. Charlotte Jaconelli She has been brilliant on stage, playing a wide variety of roles, most notably in her short performance as a Jane Austen, which she performed with style perfectly suited to the character. Meg Hately Agent Fifi was also a lot of fun, she and the rest of the cast looked like they were having so much fun onstage and that rubbed off on the audience. Georgia Grant Anderson Jade was incredibly innocent and wonderfully funny. I was rooting for her from the beginning, and although she didn’t have the most satisfying ending, she really added to the story’s progression with her hope and humour.
The stage sets and costumes for this musical are Joanna Scotcher. The set was bright, adaptive and inviting, and the band was in view throughout the show. The costumes were somewhat simple (mainly due to the need to change quickly), but very colorful. Historical figures such as Jane Austen were dressed recognizably, while others such as Emmeline Pankhurst were recreated. Most notable was the “Mary, Mary, Mary” scene, where the retro/cyberpunk costumes closely reflected how a child might see these women as superheroes, and the moment when it was all stripped away made for an impactful moment.
It was a lot of fun Incredible women who changed the world Full track list. Everyone sings their own song or split into groups based on background and motive to sing musical numbers. Each song has a deep message and meaning. All songs are Miranda Cooper and Jennifer Decilveo He worked in the pop industry, so that influence is certainly felt. VI The creative team for both shows is the same. The musical styles of both musicals are very similar, with rap numbers, ballads, and a “megamix” number at the end of the show that gets the audience involved. The above genres also gave birth to two of my favorite songs of the night, “Deeds not Words” and “Rosa’s Lullaby,” the latter of which came at the perfect time in the middle of the show to make you stop and think. I saw tears flowing all over the audience.
Another memorable aspect of this production is the incorporation of sign language in the song “Where do you Wanna Go?” and the dialogue surrounding it. The inclusion of sign language is very important and really helps promote inclusivity in this show. Nicola T. Chan He took center stage for “World of Color,” a touching moment that expressed his gratitude to the entire band. Audra Kramer and Isis Danthorne.
Incredible women who changed the world A vibrant, powerful and thoughtful musical, it brings to life a wide range of historical female figures with vigor and intensity. The talented cast delivers stunning performances, Cooper and Decilveo The soundtrack was particularly memorable – it reminded me of some of my favourite musicals. Eugenius and VIThe similarities to the latter make one wonder if the show should have a clearer identity, but this is certainly a feel-good, moving piece that’s well worth a watch.
Trigger warningThe show contains loud noises, flashing lights (including brief flashes of very bright lights) and brief audience interactions. The show explores themes of racism and the Holocaust.
