As someone who writes about beauty advent calendars from September to December every year, it’s nice to have some time off, but wait, a beauty box? A new advent calendar?
Sure, beauty boxes may not be new to the world of beauty gifts, but with Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Boots and Lookfantastic all vying for your money, Mother’s Day beauty Box is definitely gaining momentum. But which ones are worth spending money on? Why not analyze them all?
How to choose the perfect beauty box for Mother’s Day
- Top brands: I’m sure there will be a lot of Mother’s Day beauty boxes this year, but there are four that are really getting a lot of attention. M&S, John Lewis, Boots and Look Fantastic.
- High quality brand: Beauty boxes are just a waste of money if the products inside are not the best. That’s why we’ve included only a Mother’s Day beauty box filled with high-end luxury items.
- Value for money: I can’t tell you what you can and can’t buy, but I can say whether you think it’s worth the money. After all, you need a gift worth giving.
Marks & Spencer Mother’s Day Beauty Box
Now, as an advent calendar expert, I’ll use my skills to judge these boxes. So, big question! Is the Marks & Spencer Beauty Box worth it? Well, there are 4 full size products and 3 mini products, but I think this is as expected in terms of price. The brands are all famous names that your mom would be familiar with, and the box is aesthetically pleasing, which is important when gifting something to someone. I’m a big fan of Floral Street and their Wonderland Peony perfume is gorgeous. I use L’Occitane shower gel, but I haven’t tried the Cherry Blossom scent, but I imagine it would be fun. The most impressive of the lineup has to be Elizabeth Arden’s Retinol Capsules. If your mom does her own manicures, she’ll love her Nails inc’s Bond Street Passage polish and her Neom Calming Her Hand Balm to soothe dry skin.

Yes, I think it’s a very good beauty box. I think it’s reasonably priced and looks beautiful when opened. I would have liked to have seen another makeup product included, like a lip gloss, eyeshadow stick, or mascara, but the idea of a “luxury” gift makes sense.
boots mothers day beauty box
Moving on to the boots, this beauty box is called ‘We Appreciate You Always’ and is worth £259.13, pricier than Marks & Spencer’s list price of £45. There are 18 products in the package, so let’s judge the products. There are 8 full-sized products inside, packed with great skin care, hair care, body care, and makeup. Perfect for Mother’s Day. What I was particularly impressed with were the famous brand names that would impress mothers on Mothering Sunday. Artists include Liz Earle, Rituals, Elemis, No7 and Sol De Janeiro. What I was particularly impressed with was the full size Laura Mercier Her Setting Her Spray, which alone makes her worth £35.
By the way, this item is only sold online and is not available in stores.

If you only want to spend less than £50 on a beauty gift, this is great value for money. I think the “We” in the box title may change next year (the only child in this world might not want this!), but overall, there are some great brands inside. I think it’s a really powerful full size product.
John Lewis Mother’s Day Beauty Box
John Lewis’ Mother’s Day Beauty Box may seem a little plain, but it looks sensible. But never judge a book by its cover, because there’s a lot of really good stuff in it. You have luxury skin care products, fragrances, and affordable makeup products, but it’s clear they’ve been carefully chosen to pamper and uplift the special woman in your life. An assortment of 10 deluxe full-size icons, including full-size favorites from Elizabeth Arden and Floral Street. Does this box contain enough full size products? Although you may not be able to compare it to others, the Discover size products are of very high quality.

I think many moms are familiar with the products included in this box. Is there a wow factor? I don’t really understand it, but the content is very good, so that’s enough.
LOOKFANTASTIC Mother’s Day Beauty Box
Huh! At £60, this is a lot considering the price, but it’s worth noting that the LOOKFANTASTIC Mother’s Day Beauty Box is worth over £200. Get £10 off when you sign up to our aptly named beauty box service, The Box. The perfect gift for beauty lovers, it contains 11 everyday essentials, 5 of which are full size and the rest are ‘deluxe’ sizes. I think brands like Bobbi Brown, Rituals, Shiseido, and Color Wow are strong. However, there are some brands that your mom may not be familiar with. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as discovering new brands is always good. I think this is more of a showpiece, but at £60 that’s to be expected.

Yes, this is a really great gift and one that will make your mom say “ooh” and “aah”. It’s worth a lot of money, but before you part with your money, you need to ask yourself if your mom is going to use it all inside of her. If the answer is yes, it’s worth it.
