A mother was left screaming “I got an eye in my eye” after a vile thug threw acid at her face and her two children in a suspected acid attack in south London.
Witnesses said the thugs then fled the scene, leaving eight people in need of hospital treatment.
Nine people were injured in the incident, including a woman, her two children, and three police officers.
The suspect remained at large as of Thursday morning, and a helicopter was dispatched to search for him.
Officers have launched an investigation following an attack on Lesser Avenue in Clapham South.

“It was terrifying,” a witness told Sky News, adding that he tried to help the woman by wiping the chemicals off her face.

The man then allegedly got into his car and tried to run the woman over.
A witness said, “A young baby girl was knocking on her father’s door, and the woman was crying,” pleading for help.
Police have not arrested anyone so far

Lambeth Police Chief Superintendent Gabriel Cameron said: “First of all, we acknowledge the huge public concern following this horrific incident and would like to provide an update on the extent of the victim’s injuries.”
“The 31-year-old woman and her two daughters, ages 8 and 3, all remain in hospital. While none of their symptoms are life-threatening, the injuries to the woman and her young girl are life-changing. That could change. It will be a while before hospital staff can say how serious it is.
“I am confident that the public will also tell us that their thoughts are with us and that they are praying for the best possible recovery.”
All others injured in the attack were treated and subsequently released from hospital.
Prime Minister David Cameron said he believed the man and his mother knew each other.

No arrests have been made and police said they would update the situation on the injured as soon as possible.
