Judith McGill, 46, experimented with different diets for nearly 20 years without success. But after she once tipped the scales at 23rd place and 4 pounds, after continuing to lift weights every day at the gym, she was down to 9th place and 11 pounds in just three years and her dress size down to a size 8. it fell.
“I didn’t need a new diet, I needed consistency,” said Judith, a teacher from County Down, Northern Ireland.

For 15 years, Judith tried every diet to lose weight, including the cabbage soup diet and meat-based diets. She also tried the water diet, Weight Her Watchers, Slimming Her World, the chewing diet, the Atkins diet, intermittent fasting, the keto diet, taking supplements, and more.
But after about 20 years, she finally had a “moment of clarity” and realized she needed to stop seeing food as a reward. With this change in outlook, Judith, whose largest dress size was 24, started a weightlifting course at her local gym.
The university teacher currently participates in body contests and goes to Pure Gym every day without fail. She also tracks her own dietary intake and focuses on her high-protein, low-fat meal plan.
As a result, in just two and a half years, she slimmed down to a size 9 and dress size 8.
Judith said: “I was always known as the fat one. My twin sister was a hottie and I was an ugly duckling. I tried every diet under the sun.” “I ate only cabbage for seven days, but nothing worked.” .
“I stuck to a plan and finally achieved my ideal physique. I loved bodybuilding and interacting with like-minded people.”
Judith first realized her weight was an issue when she was at school and felt people were “comparing” her to her twin sister Lorna, 46, a civil servant.
“My sister was the center of attention at school. She was always skinny, but I felt fat.
“I was the ugly Betty that no boy wanted. They were always comparing us because of the comments. I became very self-conscious.”
Her problems continued even after she had three children with her teaching partner Brian McGill, 57, Ruby (20), Toby (12) and Lydia (9). With each of her pregnancies, Judith tried different diets and weight clubs to lose her weight.
She said: “I kept looking online for the quickest way to lose weight. I wanted instant results. I kept joining weight groups on Facebook, but it didn’t help. , because it was only focused on one-time weighing.”
However, failing to diet can lead to overeating high-fat foods such as chips, hamburgers, and pizza instead of losing weight.
Judith continued, “I was stuck on a diet rotation, but every diet would lead to weight gain. I felt like I kept failing. Everything felt out of reach and impossible. Felt.”
“When I saw that photo, I felt so sick, I looked so unhealthy and I was so shocked. Literally the next day I joined a gym, counted my calories and started cutting back on fatty foods.
“After that, I started a routine and saw the weight come off, which motivated me. I went to the gym every day for three years without fail.”
She continued: She said, “I feel so much better and don’t want to reach for fatty foods anymore. I even feel 20 years younger.”
“I didn’t need a new diet, I just needed consistency. Looking back, I couldn’t find any pictures of me with my kids.
“Now I ask other people to take pictures of us. I never had the energy to think about my kids or friends, but now I’m the first one to wake up that day. I’m a better mother, and I’ve never felt cuter.”
