One mother booked herself a business class seat while her partner and baby flew in economy. Some say she should take her leave, while others slam her move as being unfair to her boyfriend.
An exhausted mother has sparked controversy after admitting she left her baby and boyfriend in economy on a plane, enjoying the business class seat separated from them.
Any mother with a baby knows how nerve-wracking it can be to fly with a small child in tow. No one wants their child to be disturbed throughout the flight, and getting them to calm down and fall asleep on a plane can be even more difficult. Either way, being a new parent is a lot of work, so jetting off overseas might be the perfect way to relax. Even though getting there can be a lot of work.
Mama Ellis, a British woman living in California, recently revealed that she gets a business class seat on a plane when she can take a break. The content creator, her boyfriend, and her baby girl spent time together at the airport before waving goodbye on the plane.
While Ellis’ partner enjoyed the luxury of an upgrade, she took her baby to find a seat in economy.
Ellis went to her TikTok page @ellcochlin, which has more than 23,000 followers and more than 650,000 likes, and wrote, “I’m terrible for leaving them both in the economy.” Is that so?” he said.
She continued, “It was the only opportunity to put a baby on a plane for free, so I went for it. What would you do?” However, her mother, who loves sharing her travel tips and life hacks, was divided on her decision. Many said that her mother deserved to take her vacation and that she should enjoy it, while others accused it of being unfair to her partner.
“It’s a bit strange, but each one has its own personality,” said one. “I think you two should have been there for each other and shared the responsibility,” another person commented.
Another said: “You’ve spent so much time processing your solos, I think you’ve definitely won this award!” Another woman said, “Don’t feel guilty. We moms just need to breathe alone sometimes.”
“You deserve it…I hope you get on the plane home too,” said another.
Another wrote: “I couldn’t do this to my partner. I didn’t enjoy the flight at all. But I’m glad for you. I wish I could do it without feeling guilty.” Ta.
