Morrisons University’s plan to have children scan their purchases has been found to be divisive among shoppers.

Some families are calling for the idea, first introduced at Morrisons in Shrewsbury, to be replicated in all stores. Supermarket bosses said this was being rolled out across the country.
A photo of the new checkout was shared by Morrisons community champion Vicky Hughes, who said: “We’re introducing our new Kids Checkout, where your child will be supervised by one of our amazing colleagues and can scan all of your parent/guardian’s shopping. Join your child and If you would like to receive one and it is not available, please ask a member of our checkout team and we will be happy to assist you.”
