Turkey’s national airline, Turkish Airlines, has confirmed that it was affected by a major global IT outage that occurred on Friday.
A spokesman told the BBC that as of 1pm local time (11am BST), 84 of the airline’s flights to and from Istanbul and across Europe had been cancelled.
Turkish Airlines’ low-cost carrier AJet also said it was experiencing disruptions to its online ticketing, reservations and call centres.
Turkish Airlines apologised for the inconvenience and said operations would “gradually return to normal”.
