“I’ve always been a fitness fan and enjoy being active. I’m also lucky to have a fast metabolism, so I don’t think I’ve ever gone above a size 10,” says Lydia, 33, I’ll give it to you. “I trained throughout my pregnancy, so it wasn’t difficult for me to get back in shape after giving birth to Loretta. For me, energy creates energy, so if I didn’t exercise, my body would hurt and I would feel lethargic. So I’ve never really taken my foot off the ball too much with my fitness, I’m actually enjoying it and if I don’t put in the effort, other things start to affect me a little bit.”
So what is Lydia’s fitness routine?
“I usually go to the gym three times a week and run a 5K each time, which takes about 30 minutes,” she says. “I’m also going to do a little bit of weight training on two of those days. I’m going to vary it up a little bit and include some sit-ups, but I don’t really pay attention to that area. But I eat pretty clean. , so you can see my abs because there’s no fat on top of them. Also, being a mom means I’m always active.”
When it comes to food, Lydia prefers healthy food to junk food, but she also likes wine.
“I’ve always had a really good diet, but now that I’m a mother I eat out less and cook more at home, so I’m always trying new things,” she explains. “I cook delicious, healthy meals for us, and Loretta eats what I eat. When she was younger, I said I would never make a meal for two twice.” I’ve always been very conscious of that, which is why she’s always been an amazing eater. I don’t eat turkey dinosaurs or waffles, so why should I feed her that? I want her to eat the best and eat healthily. On my Instagram, people always laughed because I would put videos of her eating cockles like popcorn.
“We eat a lot of fruit, vegetables and legumes like quinoa and lentils,” says Lydia, who has just published her first children’s book. mama and me In this piece, a mother elephant and her baby represent the single-parent family of Lydia and Loretta. “I drink a smoothie in the morning. Sometimes I skip breakfast to get ready for school. When I get home from school, I often have brunch like carrot zucchini fritters with poached eggs. Dinner is teriyaki salmon, rice, and broccoli.
“I live this way to feel good and have energy, but there are also vanity reasons. We’re all getting older, so I too want to get in shape and look good. I think so,” she added. “I don’t really like fried food, and I’m not really into sweets, but I’m part Italian and I love having a glass of wine on the weekends. I eat chocolate and burgers and curry. If you want to eat it, eat it. Everything is fine in moderation and in small portions.”
