Hollywood blockbusters were shut out at the 44th London Critics Circle Awards as “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” both went empty-handed, with independent films sweeping the top categories. Jonathan Glazer’s Holocaust-set horror drama won the film of the year award, and Glazer also personally won the director of the year award. Celine Song’s 2023 Sundance hit “Past Lives” was also nominated for Best Picture and won Best Foreign Language Film.
Many of the acting categories are Oscar front-runners, with Emma Stone winning Best Actress for Poor Things and Davine Joy Randolph winning Best Supporting Actress for The Holdovers. monopolized by us.
