Sue Sim, a former Northumbria police chief constable, has accused Alkali attacker Abdul Ezedi of “deviant loyalty” as police search for him enters fifth day. He warned the public not to carry it.
Ezzedi remains on the run from police investigating Wednesday’s attack in south London. The 35-year-old man, who was traveling from Newcastle on the day of the attack, was last seen boarding an eastbound District line train to Tower Hill at 9.16pm that day.
A number of search warrants have been executed in London and Newcastle since the incident, but Ezzedi has yet to be traced. And now former Northumbria Police Chief Constable Sue Sim is warning those who may be harboring her.
Appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain on Monday, she said: “Whoever is harboring Ezzedi will indeed be arrested and brought to justice themselves. We will not give up any loyalty to this man. “If you know his whereabouts, please report it to the police immediately.”
Furthermore, she added: “Most people are motivated purely by the fact that they want to help the police, and they’ll want to help the poor woman who was seriously injured in this attack. Money helps as well. The Metropolitan is £20,000 I have prepared.”
“Give yourself to Abdul. You are seriously injured. You need medical treatment. You must also face the consequences of your actions. Whoever is harboring Ezzedi. You will actually be arrested and put on trial yourself. Just don’t do it.” If you have any loyalty to this man, call the police as soon as you know where he is. ”
Asked whether the longer he was on the run, the more likely he was to be in someone’s custody, she added: “You have to remember that this guy came in the back of a truck in 2016.
