The A20 in Kent has been closed to London following a multi-vehicle crash. The incident was reported by National Highways at 1pm on Saturday, February 17th.
Part of the affected road is closed near Folkestone, between Capel-le-Ferne and Arkham, westbound towards London. It is not yet known how many cars were involved. Detours are in place for motorists.
“The A20 is closed westbound between the B2011 Capel-le-Ferne and the A260 Hawkinge due to a multi-vehicle collision,” National Highways said in a statement.

Elsewhere in Kent, the A2 is also closed
A section of the A2 was closed last night (February 16) after a multi-vehicle collision on the coastline side of the road.
The incident was reported at 11pm and it is understood that three cars were involved in the crash, with one being airlifted to a London hospital.

Which detour route should drivers take?
Traffic in the area is being diverted via local routes, according to National Highways.
The London-bound section of the A20 between Folkestone and Dover has been closed.
The National Highways website does not currently outline detours, but motorists should follow yellow detour signs issued in the area.
A highway official said: “The A20 in Kent is closed westbound between the B2011 near Capel-le-Ferne and the A260 near Hawkinge following a multi-vehicle collision.
“Emergency services are on scene. Highway Traffic Police officers are at the scene assisting with traffic management.”
