Police have taped off a picturesque location in North Staffordshire this morning as part of an ongoing investigation. This was revealed after witnesses saw police, firefighters and paramedics at Rudyard Lake throughout the night.
All trails leading to the lake are currently taped off and police officers remain on scene. Police officers at the scene said the entrance was closed “due to an overnight incident”.
Forces this morning urged the public to avoid the area while investigations continue. “Last night I was in my room and noticed firefighters and an ambulance,” said one guest at the adjacent Hotel Rudyard, which has access along with a car park.
A parking lot near the mini-railway station is also open, but the walkway leading from that property to the lake is taped off.
A statement about the incident is expected to be released by the emergency services later today.
