A train line in London has had to be closed in both directions as it requires “urgent” repairs. The line near Stoke Mandeville station between Aylesbury and Amersham needs to be fixed.
This means there are no trains available to service the Aylesbury-Amersham-London Marylebone line. Disruption is expected until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5. Customers are being urged to use their tickets on London Underground wherever possible.
Trains between Aylesbury and London Marylebone operate via the Prince’s Risborough/High Wycombe line and do not stop at stations between Stoke Mandeville and Harrow-on-the-Hill (inclusive) . This applies to trains traveling in both directions.
Officials said it was likely that passengers would need to change trains at Princes Risborough during the day. Customers are advised to use the Metropolitan Line service between Amersham and Baker Street, near London’s Marylebone.

What alternative routes are there?
Today, a rail replacement bus will operate between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Amersham, passing through Aylesbury, Stoke Mandeville, Wendover, Great Missenden and Amersham. Customers can use the London Underground Metropolitan Line service between Amersham and Baker Street (close to London Marylebone).

Why are railway lines closed?

Partial closure of Overground
There will be no services at the Overground between New Crossgate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon today and tomorrow (Sunday 3 March).
Replacement buses operate between New Cross Gate and West Croydon via Brockley, Honor Oak Park, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Crystal Palace, Annerley (to Penge West), Norwood Junction and Selhurst.
Due to train cancellations, there are also some delays on the Chuo Subway Line.
