Following King Charles’ shock diagnosis, Buckingham Palace said the king feels “completely positive” about his cancer treatment.
Buckingham Palace announced Monday night that the monarch was being treated for another health problem and had been diagnosed with “some form of cancer.”
Prince Charles underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate at the end of January, but the palace confirmed he does not have prostate cancer.
Details such as the type of cancer the king is suffering from, the stage of the cancer, and his prognosis have not yet been disclosed.
Despite the shocking revelations, the monarch is said to be in good spirits and “looks forward to returning to full royal duties as soon as possible”, the palace said.
Prince Charles will temporarily suspend official duties, but will continue to carry out his private duties, including hosting Prime Minister Rishi Sunak once a week.
Meanwhile, the world wished the King well following his diagnosis, and many politicians issued statements shortly after the latest information was shared.

Mr Sunak said the entire country would pray for King Charles’s soul as his cancer diagnosis was confirmed.
“I wish His Majesty a full and speedy recovery,” Sunak tweeted.

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer added: “On behalf of the Labor Party, I wish Her Majesty a speedy recovery. We look forward to his speedy return to health.”

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said he was “concerned” to hear of Prince Charles’ diagnosis and planned to speak to the monarch as soon as possible.

Celebrities, as well as politicians and world leaders, sent their best wishes after the king was diagnosed with cancer.

Gary Lineker, former England footballer and Match of the Day presenter, said: “I am so sorry to hear the news that King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer.

Actor David Suchet said: “My wife Sheila and I join in praying for Charles III’s speedy recovery and health.”

Cancer experts told LBC the fact that Charles has already started cancer treatment is a positive sign.
