Today is the official announcement of SKNN by Kim Makeup, a rebrand of KKW Beauty. And while some might think it's to remove the letter “W” to mark her transition from wife to independent divorcée, for Kardashian, the change is more about what she likes: neutral It was about leaning towards something that “For the campaign, I try new things like red lips, hot pink lips, and purple shadows, but after that campaign I didn't wear much and I was just going to have a fun day,” Kardashian told ELLE.com. .
It was also about business organization and keeping all of her brands under one name, including SKNN by Kim, her fragrances, and makeup. “We have to promote three different partnerships, three different fulfillment centers, three different Instagram accounts and websites, and we have to coordinate three schedules for when we can and cannot cancel a launch. , and customers need to do that. It doesn't make sense to pay shipping to each company when they're still in the beauty field,” she justifies.
While Kim Kardashian is a glamor girl, she also focuses on business. Browsing the site reveals that, in line with major retailers, Kardashian also has a perks program, as well as a subscription option that gives her 10% off purchases and early access to new product launches. This is a premium product as the product sells out quickly. For her, the launch is not new, but rather a comfortable return to what she knows, which she appreciates. She says, “I thought, 'What is my core? What do I wear? What do I like?'” she says. Now, here's Kim Makeup's girlfriend SKNN. “I wanted it to be completely me and completely me,” Kardashian says.
The makeup line includes lip liners ($22) in 15 shades ranging from light beige nudes to pink nudes to rich brown nudes, pigmented velvet matte lip colors in 10 nude shades ($32), and a classic matte eyeshadow palette ($50). It consists of Perfect for everyday looks or the classic Kim Kardashian smokey eye. That's all you need for the basics, but in a Kardashian style. Her makeup shades are similar to SKIMS, and although she won't say it, Kardashian has created an empire where she can wake up in the morning, apply SKNN by Kim skincare, wear SKNN by Kim makeup, and wear SKIMS. is building. But she doesn't stop there. That's right, her scent is coming back.
ELLE.com caught up with Kim to discuss her thoughts on 2024, her favorite lip liner and lipstick combinations, and whether she's discussing her beauty business with her sister Kylie Jenner. Keep reading to keep up with Kardashian's new announcements.
I would like to know more information about beauty in 2024.
I think what's out there is always the most authentic to you. Nude lip for me. I always pair dark liner with an ombré nude lip and I always love it. I love, love, love neutrals. I don't think anything actually goes in or out. You know, it's like a scent. When you know you have something and it sticks, you will stick with it forever.
What is your favorite lip liner and lipstick combination from the collection?
Oh, I really love Lip Liner 13. This is a really nice dark nude color that you can use with a lighter shade of lipstick to give it a little more of a feathery look. I would use lipsticks number 3 to 6. In the campaign, I am wearing Lip Liner Nude 9 and Lipstick Shade 3. Here are some lip liner combinations to help people.
You said you wanted to do a foundation, and Kylie just launched hers. Has she learned anything from watching her process?
People think our makeup really matches because we're sisters and that's what we do, but we don't talk about upcoming launches or what's coming up. We didn't want to get in the way of the other person doing what they wanted to do. We made it a long time ago. It's funny; we'd shoot campaigns and we'd look at each other and in certain campaigns we'd do the exact same thing with another photographer or team and be like, “Did you know I was doing this?” and call each other. And in some cases, you may need to switch. I'm so inspired by her being so good at understanding what she wants and choosing her best shades. She's really good at that.
Did you secretly wear products from the line before they were released?
That's my favorite thing! When I went out, everyone asked me, “What lip combo is that?” The best part is when I'm wearing the fragrance I'm testing and people stop me and say, “What is that?” I'm really happy that I'm on the right path. I get really excited when I get a good response to something. Sometimes I'm just testing it for myself and not even expecting a reaction from the outside, but you get it and it's the best.
In a recent TikTok, he showed off an office that included a 3D brain model. Please tell me more.
[Laughs] I did a Prenuvo scan. This is one of those scans that completely examines your entire body for cancer, aneurysms, and anything else that might occur. For Christmas, they sent me an exact silver metal scan of my brain and gave it to me as a gift. I thought it was very nice and put it in my office.
