Jamie Carragher believes it will be difficult for Thiago Silva to regain his place in the Chelsea team once he returns to full fitness.
The 39-year-old defender was injured in Monday’s game against Crystal Palace and missed the 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

“His contract expires at the end of the season, so what? If you look at the players he’s playing with there, unless someone gets injured, Thiago Silva will be in the team between now and the end of the season. I think it will be very difficult to go back.
“I think Chelsea need to start building something for the future. (Carabao) won’t play much after the Cup final. I think they will play as a partnership and maybe another young centre-back. I think you are looking at it as.
I think the days of Thiago Silva playing for Chelsea should come to an end. ”
While Silva was away at the Etihad, the partnership between Levi Colwill and Axel DiSasi made an impression before Rodri’s late equalizer.
The latter caught the attention of coach Carragher, who praised him, saying, “I can’t remember a better defensive performance than[Disasi].” he was great. It was almost a bit of a throwback, with my back against the wall.

Silva has made 146 appearances for Chelsea since joining from PSG in 2020, scoring eight goals.
He played an influential role in leading the Blues to Champions League victory in his first season at the club.
