I’ve been secretly trying out the new iPad Pro – it’s Apple’s “thinnest gadget ever” but that’s not even the best part.

I’ve been waiting for this for 562 days.

Apple has finally released a new tablet after a massive hiatus. And I was one of the first to test the new ultra-premium iPad Pro.

This powerful, premium slate has more computing power than most laptops.

And it’s so incredibly thin and light that you wonder if this is all a California trick.

I’ve been trying it out for the better part of a week, but I’d like to start with the screen.

It comes in two sizes, 11 inches and (my preference) 13 inches, and uses OLED display technology.

If you’ve recently purchased a high-end TV or a new iPhone, you may be familiar with this term.

Typically, gadget screens use a backlight to illuminate the screen. crystal It is what makes up the pixels on the display.

However, this generally means that LED-backlit LCD displays cannot display true black because there is always light.

OLED displays have self-emitting pixels that can be turned on or off individually.

This means it can display true blacks, provide better contrast (darker blacks and brighter whites), and offer a wider range of colors.

Apple used a special combination of two OLED panels to achieve truly impressive brightness.

The display looks great, especially when watching HDR movies. Or, head over to YouTube and check out some specific OLED content to see exactly why these displays are so impressive.

There’s a good chance this new Ultra Retina XDR display is better than your TV.

If you’re using a tablet instead of a laptop, its portability should be one of your big advantages.

The new iPad Pro definitely ticks that box, weighing just 0.98 pounds or 1.28 pounds depending on the size you buy.

The 11-inch device is very thin at 5.3 mm, while the 13-inch device is even thinner at 5.1 mm.

There are noticeable differences when compared to the older iPad Pro, especially when the previous generation Magic Keyboard is attached.

Apple’s new Magic Keyboard has also been significantly improved, adding (finally) a functional row of keys and a premium metal base.

The slimness of the iPad Pro becomes apparent when you slam the Apple Pencil Pro into the magnetic attachment on the long side of the tablet. You will then notice that the stylus is almost twice as thick. That’s a really amazing moment.

Apple gleefully announced in its keynote that this was the company’s thinnest product ever. That’s a great accomplishment to be proud of.

Frankly, the performance is amazing.

Apple has included a custom-built M4 chip in the new iPad Pro. This processor will inevitably power your Mac laptop (but not yet).

For casual users, its power is invisible. All I know is that no matter what I do, it slows down.

The game seems to have no problems even with the graphics settings turned up to the maximum.

If you are a Pro user, you can comfortably use this for video editing, animation, and photo retouching (even with very large file sizes).

And as a technical device for artists, it’s hard to beat when paired with the new Apple Pencil Pro.

I love drawing in Procreate and can end up spending hours on end. For real artists with real skills, it must be as close as you can get to the Industrial Revolution.

There are a few other small tweaks worth noting if you’re an iPad fan.

Apple has moved the FaceTime camera to the side edge. This is great for looking like you’re paying attention on a video call.

But it also means you won’t accidentally smear your camera with fingerprints when you open it. Big win.

The rear camera has been slightly improved. It’s still not as good as the latest iPhone camera systems, but it’s fully functional.

Like its predecessor, it has a USB-C connection, which can be used for charging. The Magic Keyboard also comes bundled with a USB-C port.

This means you can use the same iPad cable to charge your new MacBook or iPhone device.

Gone are the days when you only had one iPad. Today, Apple has a wide range of tablets to suit many needs.

There are many people who don’t need an iPad Pro. So who exactly is this machine for?

One of the problems with the iPad Pro is that some of its greatest potential lies in its accessories: the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro/Pencil.

The Magic Keyboard costs $299 or $349 depending on size, and the Pencil or Pencil Pro costs $79 or $129.

Then there’s the price of the tablet itself, starting at $999 and $1,299.

That means the cheapest full setup will cost you at least $1,377.

For some people, it may simply be unpleasant.

But this is a truly powerful product that goes far beyond what you would normally think of as a tablet, and for some people it’s a great value.

With exceptional performance, it doubles as a pretty capable laptop and is a class leader as a tablet.

If you plan on using this for multiple hours a day, you can easily buy one.

But unless that means throwing away a laptop purchase, most users on a budget will probably want to go with either the regular iPad or the very capable new iPad Air (powered by the older but faster M2 chip). It would be much better to buy.

Use your iPad to comfortably write, edit photos, research, have meetings, and more.

Then you can watch movies on a great screen, play Wild Rift with graphics set to max, or have fun drawing with Procreate.

That makes it much easier to justify its value than if you just wanted a tablet for some casual YouTube viewing or light gaming.

If you’re looking for the best tablet money can buy, this is it. No questions asked.
