NEW DELHI: Jasprit Bumrah has claimed 15 wickets to become the third-highest wicket-taker in a T20 World Cup. The Indian fast bowler was adjudged Player of the Tournament as his team remained unbeaten.
In the final, Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets as India turned the tide with some brilliant play, restricting South Africa to 169 for 8 and ending their 11-year world title drought.

Bumrah said, “I’m not really down. I was confident mid-way through the innings but then I got a bit nervous. But I’m really happy to win like this. It’s been a great tournament. Angad (son) is here too. He has seen his father win the World Cup. To be able to contribute in a tournament like this, it couldn’t be any better. I couldn’t be happier.”
Sanjana then asks Bumrah to say a few words about India’s campaign and how amazing it was to play with these players.
“It’s absolutely fantastic, I can’t praise enough the way we played, how we kept our cool, how we stuck to expectations and didn’t panic even when it looked a bit tough in the final stages,” Bumrah said.
Sanjana asked how it felt bowling alongside Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya to which Bumrah replied, “It was really good. Everyone is so confident, they’re bringing in versatility and they’re confident to deliver on the big stage. It’s great to see that and there’s no better feeling than that.”
