Isamaya French has been appointed to the advisory board of the British Beauty Council.
French, a former creative director at Byredo before launching her cosmetics brand in 2022, was selected along with make-up artist Lucy Bridge and nail artist Sylvie McMillan.
Esthetician Teresa Termey, fashion editor and stylist Kate Phelan and consultant dermatologist Dr Alexis Granite also joined the advisory board.
Brand founders Claire Agarwal and Shabata Singh, perfumer Aji Glasser and hairstylist Neil Moody round out the list of new appointments.
The new members will work with the British Beauty Council to create a “more consistent” roadmap for the organization’s growth plans starting in 2025.
Millie Kendall, CEO of the British Beauty Council, said: “There is no doubt that the insight these new appointments will provide the Council will be influential and impactful.”
The council includes more than 70 advisory board members and ambassadors such as Bobby Blau and hairstylist Sam McKnight.
Supermodel and brand founder Kate Moss is also an ambassador for the industry body, and was appointed in October 2023.
She has worked with the British Beauty Council to raise the awareness and reputation of British beauty to a global audience.
Influencer and Skin Rocks owner Caroline Hirons was also appointed as an ambassador last May.
“I hope that the members of the advisory committee, through their work, will continue to support the council in its important efforts to enhance the reputation of the industry,” Kendall added.
