An amusement park in China has been given the unwanted title of 'world's worst theme park' after tourists were left baffled by abandonment.
Shijingshan Amusement Park in China's capital, Beijing, has been called a Disneyland knockoff by tourists for decades because of its damaged attractions and characters, a pound-shop version.
Admission to this not-so-magical park costs just 10 yuan (£1.11), about 1 percent of the price of Disney World's pricey admission.
But despite its undisputed value for money, what lies beyond the rusty old entrance gate is certainly not Disney-level.
Photos online show pools of murky green water surrounding Cinderella Castle, the park's centerpiece.
Photos show an eerily similar Disney castle with a tall Ferris wheel right behind it, and a tall red tower that is dirty, neglected and in desperate need of cleaning.

Across the park are slowly decaying statues, from Popeye wanting more spinach to a rocket ship with peeling paint.
The strange cyan interior of the castle is littered with purposefully placed artwork, from cowboy hats and guns to a mummified man still wrapped in bandages.
The American Adventure castle is followed by a wildlife exhibit filled with plastic animals painted on the safari walls.
Kangaroos, zebras and mushrooms all Next This exhibit allows you to interact with the best of the animal kingdom from around the world living just a few feet away.
Models of people standing on rocks wearing cowboy costumes and checked shirts complete the first part of the Shijingshan experience.
First opened on September 28, 1986, the theme park is owned and operated by the Shijingshan District Government.
Back in 2021, the park underwent a major renovation and three new roller coasters were designed. He only has six open year-round, but now there are 16 in total.
However, many people call this park “weird” because of its obsession with guns, nudity, and strangely themed rides.
One of the strangest rides in the world, a giant pineapple sits atop a narrow green roller coaster course, and a giant goblin in spiky armor flies through the air on a warrior turnplate. I'm looking at you.
There's also a giant great white shark with a rope around its neck and its dorsal fin dangling for fun for the whole family.
For fans of the iconic Jurassic Park, Shi Jingshan has attempted a similar exhibit, with mixed results.
The writing on the sign posts has disappeared, and the fearsome Tyrannosaurus rex that watches over the park has blunt teeth, thin human-like fingers in place of claws, and unpleasant eyes.
Bright colors like purples, blues, pinks, and greens abound in the theme park, but instead of the pastel hues that draw people in, they look dirty, dusty, and slightly brownish.
The real attractions are a cartoon bunny pointing a gun at guests, a mermaid who looks suspiciously like Ariel with a clam on her bare chest, and a cracked penguin with the word “party” emblazoned on the front.
A baby elephant that looks less and less like Dumbo the more you look at it, and a pool with a raft of pink flamingos sit in a dark corner of the park, while Mickey, Minnie and Daffy watch from painted walls.
To top it off, a four-fingered hand can be seen hanging a decapitated head from a wall, setting up an eerie Nativity-style scene featuring ghouls and demons covered in splatters of luminous green paint.
Shijingshan did its best to imitate Disneyland in appearance, and even advertised, “Disney is too far away to go. Please come to Shijingshan.”
The park's current slogan is “Happy, Healthy, High,” which was changed after Disney allegedly sued the owners over the previous title.
One visitor to this park left a review online:
“It was almost strange. It felt like there were two sections to the park. The first part you entered was completely abandoned and all the rides were closed.”
Another said: “It was so fun to walk around the park because it was so weird.
“This place doesn't get a lot of love despite being so busy, but it actually has some really good rides.”
A third person wrote: “I think it'll be ok but don't get your hopes up too much that it's going to be like Disneyland.”
Despite this, the park still has an average rating of 4 stars on TripAdvisor and is nearly always crowded during the summer months as tourists and locals flock to the amusement park each year. .
Another copycat Disney World is Japan's Nara Dreamland.
What was supposed to be the country's most popular adventure attraction ended up being a creepy ruin filled with decay and dust.
