The rain has subsided so we should be able to get the match started at 4.20pm, which would allow for a full match of 20 overs per team.

The atmosphere was raucous even at the toss! Babar Azam won. Pakistan batted first and chose to defend. Not surprising, given the overcast skies.

India captain Rohit Sharma acknowledged that if they had won the coin toss, they would have been given the bowl too.

Ok, good news! The toss will take place at 3:30pm BST (7 minutes from now) and the start time is 4pm BST, meaning there will only be a 30 minute delay.

The rain has stopped, the covers have been removed and the umpire has come to inspect the pitch. I think there will be a slight delay before the start but it shouldn’t be too long (famous last words…)
