A self-proclaimed beauty snob has flocked to Trader Joe’s after revealing affordable skin care products that impressed her.
She shared her candid thoughts on three affordable items she bought while shopping.
Kat James (@shinebykatjames) boasts over 961,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares self-care tips.
She looked effortlessly glamorous as she spoke candidly about her experience using Trader Joe’s skincare line.
“Trader Joe’s beauty comes from beauty snobs,” she said.
“Dry shampoo, this really surprised me.”
She held up a bottle of $4.99 dry shampoo, then sprayed it on the roots of her hair.
“It’s going very well,” she said. “There is no white mass or heaviness that is difficult to penetrate into the hair.
“It’s phenomenal.”
She rolled up the sleeves of her top and applied Trader Joe’s Lemongrass Coconut Body Oil to her arms.

This affordable moisturizing product costs just $3.99.
“This is the most perfect oil to make your skin glow,” she said.
“When I want really dewy, glowing skin, this is it: sweet almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and lemongrass oil.
“It literally smells like a spa and will make your feet look absolutely gorgeous in the summer.
“It’s just so glossy.
“Next up is the Griloclic Firming Body Oil,” she said as she opened the bottle.
“First of all, I would say it’s a very delicious, citrusy, bright, clean scent.
“I can’t speak to the firming effect as I haven’t used it long enough yet, but what I can say is that the body butter with glycolic acid is amazing on many levels.
“So if you’re someone who suffers from breakouts, you’ll get little pimples on your back or chest.
“Glycols help break down dead skin trapped in oil, bacteria, and debris that cause breakouts.
“It is also effective for people with keratosis pilaris, which are small bumps on the backs of arms and legs.
“Using glycolic acid cream regularly can be very helpful in preventing it.
“Plus, it’s super moisturizing and has lemon peel, orange peel, and vitamin C, so it’s super brightening for your skin.
“Please be careful, do not use it in the sun.
“Glycolic acid can cause photosensitivity.”
Trader Joe’s Vitamin C Firming Body Butter is available in stores for $6.99.
Kat was also pleased with the brand’s Cleansing + Conditioning Hair Wash, which reduces breakouts without the need for other styling products.
The $4.99 wash boasts of replacing “the typical shampoo and conditioner two-step hair care ritual” with one product.
The beauty guru said that the only thing she puts on her hair after using the wash is oil to add shine.
“In the end, all of these products were worth trying,” she said.
“All of the products were great, but the two that stood out to me were the dry shampoos, which are just above and beyond.
“And glycolic body lotion.”
“I never imagined I’d be reviewing the beauty of Trader Joe’s…but oh, here we are!” she added.
“Get it before it’s gone!”
More than 58,000 people liked the video, and hundreds of viewers shared their favorite Trader Joe’s products in the comments section.
One person wrote: “Damn…I think I’m going back to Trader Joe’s.”
