A national opinion poll shows that a majority of Americans support women being drafted into the military in the event of a world war. So I decided to ask Mirror readers for their opinions.
Defense Secretary Grant Shapps says ominously that we are “moving from a post-war world to a pre-war world”, while Britain’s top army officer, General Sir Patrick Saunders, says he will build up Britain’s shrinking military. I’m looking for spare boots locally for this purpose.
There is no talk of conscription at this stage, but there is still speculation as to whether it will happen, and many Britons believe that women should also be exposed to the front line if it is to be conscripted. is thinking.
According to data company research According to YouGov, the majority of the public (72%) say women should be conscripted into the military. This breakdown shows that 42% of people think that men should serve in the military under exactly the same standards as men, while 30% think that there should be some restrictions on the roles that men can play (e.g. (e.g., one should not serve in the infantry).
Women of draft age (18-40) are most likely to say women should not be drafted (19%), but more than three times as likely (60%) say women should serve in the military in some capacity. or form that you think should be.

Reacting to the findings on Reddit, user WILDB1988 wrote, “I’m completely against conscription in general, no matter the circumstances. If you’re going to conscript it, it should be both genders, not just one.” ” he posted.
“I don’t think women should be drafted into the military, but I don’t think men should be drafted either,” Sitchards said.
Mr Skiamakos: “No one should be conscripted. With the Conservatives at the front, they want to fight.”
Thistleforn: “I think we should conscript women into the military, because it’s not right to just send men to their deaths.”
dependent_Break4800: “Do you want to meet a man? and Women who are drafted into the military, or both, should not be drafted. I don’t understand why they don’t include women. The military is not just a specific type of soldier who requires a lot of physical strength. It’s not that women can’t force themselves into the field. However, there are many other roles in the military that cannot be performed by humans. It requires a lot of physical strength. ”
Will today’s young generation be willing to serve?
YouGov also publishes other poll results on potential global conflicts.
We asked people ages 18 to 40 to reflect the age of conscription during World War I and World War II (18 to 41).
If a world war broke out, 38% of under-40s said they would refuse to serve in the army, and 30% said they would not enlist even if Britain faced an imminent invasion.
One in 14 (7%) in this age group said they would join the army if a world war broke out, rising to 11% if mainland Britain was threatened. There are also people who will not serve in the military, but who would resist being drafted if the situation arises. 21% in the case of a world war and 23% in the specific case of Britain facing invasion.
*As tensions with an increasingly belligerent Russia continue to rise, Your Mirror has conducted an independent poll asking: “Would you support British citizens being called into battle?” More than 7,000 people voted, of which 5,120 said they did not support such action and 2,152 said yes or support it.Click here for detailed results here
