As a Gen Z star, Jones has had to reevaluate her relationship with beauty standards and Instagram perfection.
“I’ve learned that the expectation of not having imperfections or acne or blackheads is like, ‘LOL, girl, that’s not my truth.’ So many different things have happened in my life and My body has so many different stages.”
“Especially when you’re heartbroken,” the “Double Back” singer added, “the way you talk to yourself is so important.”
“Speak really, really kindly to yourself and talk excitedly about the future. Always stay positive.”
Coco Jones has a skincare routine that’s ‘on point’
Younger generations are flocking to stores like Sephora and Ulta Beauty to try to slow down aging with a myriad of protective gear. But Jones loves simplicity.
“Short, to-the-point, strong routines really work for me. 18 products isn’t always my truth.
“I like ingredients that are not too flashy, not too chaotic, straight to the point, routines that can be completed in two steps. Even if there are 3 or 4[products]4 at most. is.”

Jones wears performance costumes to perfection. But when it comes to urgent errands, there are three of her items that make up her go-to beauty routine.
“I’m a brow person. I love a good brow. I need an eyebrow pencil, like a micropoint pencil, to create deep, individual lines (a must).
“Sunscreen is number two for me because I realized that just because we have melanin doesn’t mean we’re robots that can’t feel the sun’s rays.”
Lastly, she loves mascara. “I’m really proud of my natural eyelashes, so I use the right mascara and really eat them up.”

Jones is gearing up to return as Hilary Banks in Season 3 of Peacock’s Bel Air (“Hilary Loading,” she teased on her Instagram Story on Jan. 24). She’s a singer and actress, and her everyday style usually includes neutrals and dark colors, but as Hilary, she transforms with rainbow-hued options that include lots of bold patterns. “I can live a colorful life through her,” she says.
“I love how colorful Hilary’s wardrobe is. Sometimes I get tired of black, brown, navy, and camouflage. Sometimes I just want to be pink or orange. Plus, it looks great on my melanin pigment.”
On stage and on red carpets, you’ll likely see Jones wearing different versions of bra tops, a symbol of her confidence. She is also inspired by Rihanna and Teyana Taylor.
“My stylist is Jyotisha (Bridges). I like to feel like a girl…especially on stage.
“I want[the audience’s reaction]to say, ‘Who is that?'” “I want to create a moment and shake the room with things that sparkle, rhinestones, bright leather. Things that you wouldn’t normally wear on the street. ”
As for the upcoming New York Fashion Week, Jones shares her September favorites, including a bold red monochromatic look from the front row of the Laquan Smith show, a bright pink Sergio Hudson mini dress, and a full-length silver dress with cutouts. “There’s something unpleasant about almost every red carpet. Focus your mind on something else. Nine times out of 10, it’s a little unpleasant.
“Whenever something’s a little tight, a little short, a little bit, but that’s what it is. Hey, beauty is pain.”
