Tyra has postponed her scheduled 2024 world tour due to an ongoing injury.
The South African singer-songwriter announced the news on her Instagram page on Thursday, canceling all shows scheduled to open March 21 in Oslo, Norway, including a slot at Coachella in April. I explained the reason.
“For the past year, I have suffered in silence from a tragically worsening injury,” she wrote in a message to her 4.1 million fans and followers. “I have visited doctors and specialists with high hopes, but the pain has only gotten more painful as the situation has become more serious.”
She didn’t reveal the exact injury, but said how her success last year, which led to her booking a tour and recording her upcoming self-titled album, was “a lifelong dream.”
“It truly pains me to have to say this, but at this time we are unable to continue with the tour,” the 22-year-old from Johannesburg, South Africa, wrote. “After consulting with medical professionals, it has become increasingly clear that my long-term health and safety is at risk if I continue with my festival and tour dates.”
“Words cannot express my frustration at this pivotal point in my career. That’s why my team and I will be here to help you all as soon as I recover and are ready to safely return to the stage this summer. Please know that we are working hard to put on a great show,” Tyra (real name Tyra Laura Sheetal) continued.
North American fans were then told that their “tickets will be automatically refunded,” while international fans “will be contacted by their ticket provider regarding their options.”
The starlet concluded her first statement by asking fans to “stay tuned for new dates and information.”
The Butterflies star will likely try to end his post on a more positive note by reassuring fans about his future.
“You guys will still see me with the Tigers, so don’t worry too much…just know that once I get back to performing pain-free, I’ll be in even more trouble,” she wrote.
After last year’s success, Tyra revealed: “It was hard to turn down an opportunity I’ve been waiting for my whole life, but God has a plan.”
Last year, Tyra shot to international fame with her hit single ‘Water’, and in February she won her first ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance.
The North American leg of the now-canceled Tyra Tour begins April 22 in San Francisco, with 19 dates in cities including Seattle, Portland, New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, and Toronto, before ending in May. It was scheduled to end in Minneapolis on the 28th. .
Tyra’s self-titled debut album is scheduled for release on March 22, the day after her tour, which was originally scheduled to begin in Oslo, Norway.
The album was followed by three singles: “Water,” “On and On,” and “Truth or Dare,” for a total of 14 albums, including the single and the remix of “Water” (featuring Travis Scott). The song will be recorded.
Tyra got her start in music while in high school by posting original songs and covers on her Instagram account and sending them to many big names in the music industry.
She was then discovered by her first manager, Garth von Gren, who organized her first recording session.
